Becoming an Hermano
At Hermosa Hermanos, we believe that true happiness comes from serving others. That's why the Hermanos are dedicated to making a positive impact on our community. Our compassionate and devoted volunteers strive for constant improvement, always seeking out new ways to make a difference.
We are inquisitive and open to learning about different philanthropies and cultures, allowing us to broaden our horizons and positively impact as many people as possible. We take our philanthropy, meetings, financial and leadership duties seriously, modeling integrity and ensuring we are making the world a better place every day.

To be elibigible prospective members must be boys with at least one parent in Hermosa Beach and/or be a former Hermosa Valley student.
The Hermanos Commitment
Over a 4-year commitment (9th to 12th grade), Hermanos will complete 115 hours of volunteer service including:
-
9th grade: 40 hours of service
-
10th grade: 30 hours of service
-
11th grade: 25 hours of service
-
12th grade: 20 hours of service
The Hermanos will mainly volunteer with other Hermanos or other volunteers to gain confidence on their own. There are also some volunteer opportunities for mothers or parents to chaperone or volunteer together.
Mother/Female Mentor Commitment
While the Hermanos focus on volunteering, mothers or their female sponsor help run the club. There are various levels of time commitments and roles suited to each member’s interests.

Each woman must commit to a role each year and be in good financial standing.
President's Volunteer Service Award
We do not make volunteering a competition, but we do recognize a Hermanos hard work. Our higher hour requirements make the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) reachable.
We are a one stop shop and have authority to certify hours, making it easy for young men to be recognized for their service hours across their required work with Hermanos and other charity organizations.
Learn Life Skills & Connect
Four quarterly 2-hour meetings are held each year where each Hermanos brings a donation for a nominated charity, enjoys a speaker, and connects with each other while enjoying dinner.
Optional cultural and bonding events for both Hermanos and mothers are also available.
